Our application is an OBS plugin used by streamers to automate overlay insertions during YouTube livestreams. These overlays contain QR codes that allow mobile viewers to interact with polls, surveys, mini-games, rewards, and other audience engagement experiences.

We request the youtube.force-ssl scope because YouTube does not provide a more limited scope specifically for sending messages to a livestream chat. Our application will use this scope only to identify the user’s active YouTube livestream and send a chat message containing the same QR code link displayed in the OBS overlay.

The application will not create, edit, delete, or manage YouTube videos, captions, ratings, comments, playlists, or channel settings. The scope will be used strictly for livestream chat automation related to overlays explicitly triggered by the streamer.
